The Story

Two Moon Princess is a fantasy adventure that takes place in Xaren-Ra, a mythical world reminiscent of Medieval Spain that exits in a universe parallel to Earth.

            The story is told from the point of view of Andrea, a headstrong princess, who unhappy with her parents expectations for her, escapes from their castle and finds her way into present day California.

            Andrea loves California and plans to stay there forever, but when, accidentally, she returns to her world, bringing with her an American boy, trouble ensues.

            As Andrea struggles to stop the war her actions has started, she comes to respect her mother’s wisdom and to accept her own place in her world. Only then is she ready to leave her father’s castle.

            Two Moon Princess is loosely based on personal experience. Like Andrea, I arrived at the University of California at Davis from the Old World (Spain). I have tried to capture in the book, the sense of wonder I felt during those amazing first months in California and the shock of finding myself an alien in my own country when I went back.

            The story of Two Moon Princess alternates between two worlds:

           Xaren-Ra, a world of warrior kings where the Medieval kingdoms of Spain are still fighting each                 other, and

            Earth, more specifically modern-day California.

            Xaren-Ra and Earth are connected by invisible doors that open briefly as the full moon rises.
